Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets 4–6 oz each, fresh or fully thawed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare the tilapia: Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Check that the fish is fully thawed and remove any excess moisture so the seasoning adheres evenly.
  • Prepare the seasoning: In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, black pepper, and optional paprika until combined.
  • Season the fish: Brush the lemon herb mixture over both sides of each fillet. Spread the garlic and herbs evenly across the surface.
  • Air fry the tilapia: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C), if recommended for your model. Arrange the fillets in a single layer and cook for 7–10 minutes, depending on thickness. The fish is ready when it flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Garnish and serve: Carefully remove the tilapia from the air fryer. Sprinkle with fresh parsley, add lemon wedges, and serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • Cooking time: Tilapia fillets vary in thickness, so begin checking for doneness after 7 minutes.
  • Don't overcrowd: Cook in a single layer for even cooking.
  • Food safety: The thickest part of the fish should reach 145°F (63°C).
  • Serving ideas: Pair with steamed vegetables, rice, quinoa, roasted potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days. Freeze for best quality for up to 2–3 months.
  • Reheating: Reheat leftovers to 165°F (74°C), checking frequently to avoid drying out the fish.
