Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough – Refrigerated or homemade pizza dough works well.
  • ½ cup pizza sauce – Use your favorite pizza sauce or marinara.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese – Low-moisture mozzarella melts beautifully.
  • 4 ounces pepperoni – Use small slices or cut larger slices into pieces.
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese – Adds a savory cheesy finish.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning – Brings classic Italian flavor to the rolls.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder – Adds a delicious savory garlic flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons butter – Melted for brushing over the rolls.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley – Chopped for a fresh garnish.

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it into an even rectangle.
  • Add the Pizza Sauce: Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges to make rolling and sealing easier.
  • Add the Cheese and Pepperoni: Sprinkle the mozzarella evenly over the sauce. Add the pepperoni, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
  • Roll the Dough: Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam gently to seal it and help keep the filling inside.
  • Slice the Pizza Rolls: Using a sharp knife, cut the dough log into 24 evenly sized mini rolls. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet with a little space between each piece.
  • Add the Butter Mixture: Brush the tops of the pizza rolls with melted butter. Sprinkle with garlic powder and a little additional Parmesan if desired.
  • Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the pizza rolls cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.

Notes

For the best results, avoid overfilling the dough with sauce or cheese, as excess filling can leak during baking. Low-moisture mozzarella works especially well because it melts beautifully without making the dough too wet.
Store leftover pizza rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 2–3 months. Reheat in an oven or air fryer until warmed through and crispy.
