- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup chicken broth low sodium preferred
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
Return the chicken to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and simmer for another 5–7 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately with your favourite sides.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest, creamiest sauce.
- Chicken thighs can be substituted for chicken breasts.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, stir in a splash of chicken broth or cream.
- Avoid boiling the sauce after adding the cream to prevent it from separating.
- Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
