Total Time 1 hour hr 10 minutes mins
- 3 ripe bananas mashed
- 1 cup white sugar
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.2. Combine bananas, sugar, butter, and egg in a bowl. Whisk flour and baking soda together in a separate bowl; stir into the banana mixture until batter is just mixed.3. Stir in salt; transfer batter to the prepared loaf pan.4. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.5. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
- The riper the bananas, the better — look for ones heavily speckled or mostly brown.
- Avoid overmixing once the flour is added; a few lumps are fine.
- Try stirring in chopped walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
- Tent loosely with foil if the top browns too fast before the center is done.
- Cool in the pan 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
