Total Time 38 minutes mins
- 1 lb pizza dough
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup mini pepperoni
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley optional
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin pan with cooking spray or a small amount of olive oil.
Prepare the Dough: Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a small circle large enough to fit inside a muffin cup, then gently press the dough into the prepared pan.
Add the Sauce: Spoon a small amount of pizza sauce into the center of each dough cup, keeping the sauce away from the very top edge.
Add the Cheese and Pepperoni: Add shredded mozzarella and mini pepperoni to each muffin. Avoid overfilling so the dough can be sealed properly.
Fold and Season: Bring the edges of the dough toward the center and gently pinch them together. Brush the tops with olive oil, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
Bake for 16–18 minutes, or until the pizza muffins are puffed and golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Cool and Serve: Let the pizza muffins cool in the pan for about 5 minutes. Carefully remove them and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
- Use low-moisture mozzarella for the best melted, cheesy texture without making the muffins watery.
- Avoid overfilling the dough with sauce and toppings, as too much filling can cause the muffins to leak while baking.
- Seal the dough well around the filling to keep the cheese and sauce inside.
- Customize with your favorite toppings such as cooked sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives, or jalapeños.
- Let the muffins cool for a few minutes before removing them from the pan so they hold their shape.
- Serve warm with extra pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
- For longer storage, freeze the cooled muffins for up to 2–3 months and reheat until warmed through.
