Total Time 25 minutes mins
- 4 salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp fresh dill chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese optional
Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper.
Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the salmon and cook until golden on the bottom. Carefully flip and continue cooking until tender and nearly cooked through. Transfer the salmon to a plate.
Start the Sauce: Reduce the heat and add butter to the same skillet. Add the minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and gently scrape the flavorful browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Add the Flavor: Stir in fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, and Dijon mustard. Simmer gently until the sauce becomes smooth and slightly thickened.
Finish the Salmon: Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the creamy dill sauce over the fillets. Simmer gently for a few minutes until the salmon is fully cooked and coated in the sauce.
Serve: Garnish with additional fresh dill and lemon zest. Serve immediately with your favorite vegetables, rice, potatoes, or pasta.
For the best results, avoid overcooking the salmon. Cook it until tender and flaky, then finish it gently in the creamy dill sauce. Fresh dill and freshly squeezed lemon juice give the sauce the brightest flavor. Serve immediately with roasted vegetables, rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.
